Production[]

At the time of the video's release, CinemaSins' "Everything Wrong With" series and Screen Junkies' "Honest Trailers" series were two well-known, highly-viewed web series with snarky, comedic takes on movies. For one week only, the channels swapped web series for comedy and cross-promotional purposes. The same week, Honest Trailers team wrote and produced its own Everything Wrong With for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Though this video isn't strictly an sins video , it is nonetheless considered an episode of the third season.

The video succinctly illustrates the differences between the Honest Trailers and Everything Wrong With approach to film criticism. Honest Trailers' "jokes" take the form of humorous interpretation and analysis, and are structured as jokes with set-ups and punchlines, whereas the "jokes" in CinemaSins' video were reactions and observations. Screen Junkies and CinemaSins never repeated the series swap, though they did collaborate on some other projects. See the main page Comparison of Honest Trailers and CinemaSins for more information.

Transcript[]

Sony Pictures invites you to watch the sequel to the superhero reboot: The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

As much a setup for the sinister six-film you didn't ask for as it is a sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, which you also didn't ask for. (Gwen Stacy laughs)

From the studio that already learned a hard lesson about putting too many villains in the Spider-Man picture comes a Spider-Man film with too many villains. Watch as Sony makes all the same mistakes they made with Spider-Man 3: the movie responsible for rebooting the franchise in the first place. (Peter Parker walks with good music as he points fingers in the Spider-Man 3) Well, almost all of them.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 partially tells the undeveloped of Max, an electrician that works at Oscorp who is sort of evil because he fantasizes about choking Ryan Howard from the office and has a shrine to Spider-Man in his apartment. Max transforms into Electro after he takes on this insanely dangerous job with a one hundred percent chance of something bad happening.

Experience the story of Peter Parker and his girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, who bond and make out over their shared dead parents juggling a relationship in a full-time job as Spider-Man is nothing compared to their newest challenge: finding the treasure hidden by the Declaration of Independence. Peter's adventure fears into dark reevaluation about his father's work that could change the course of history and offer him a much catharsis we saw him get in the last chapter. Critics are already calling it "The 'Field of Dreams' of superhero films..." (J. Scott-CinemaSins) with more relationship drama than a Meg Ryan movie.
Electro: You need me?
Harry: Yes, I need you!
And only thirty minutes more actual Spider-Man scenes than a Meg Ryan movie: including yet again saving a baby from a burning building, crawling through tunnels, doing this (stands up while being surrounded by two guys), and whatever this is (hanging on the wall in his room).

Spider-Man faces his greatest challenge yet as he takes on the brother of Dr. Manhattan so that Sony can copal on Marvel from once again owning the movie rights to the character. And speaking of cop blocking:
Gwen's dad: Leave Gwen happy! a ghost of Dennis Leary is here to insure that Spider-Man sticks his Peter somewhere other than Gwen making it psychologically impossible for him to Parker in the entire film.

Shot in cartoon with little bits of live-action added here and there you wouldn’t believe it when you see this movie’s world to the life on screen. ‘Coz actually not much you’ll see that you’ll be able to believe, especially this f**king kid. Seriously not one cop could stop this kid from running out in the street?

Sit through a first act that takes one hour to finally end only to introduce you to a second act with whiny Harry Osborn and his fake disease. Norman Osborn: That the viral replace you. And for at least for the 71st time, hear how much Harry hates Spider-Man all over again. Harry Osborn: You’re a fraud, Spider-Man! (grunts)

Discover the beauty of accidentally advancing the story through absolutely insane plot devices, comes a motion picture that recycles all of its plot from every comic book film, including for the third time in 12 years: the Green Goblin (shows the Green Goblin appeared in Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 3, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2), 360 degree panoramic views of Times Square (shows the 360 degree turn of the camera as Electro spoke about facing Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Steve Roger in Captain America: The First Avenger), main villain who shoots lightning in the middle of New York (shows clips of Electro shoots lightning in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Dr. Doom shoots lightning in Fantastic Four), police cars being thrown (clips of police cars being thrown in X-Men, Chronicle, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2), and more funerals (clips of funeral scenes from Spider-Man, Spider-Man 3, and The Amzing Spider-Man 2).

Be prepare to ask the questions: How does Harry know that the Green Goblin suit would heal him when he uses the Spider-Venom? Where did Electro get the spiffy suit that fits him perfectly? And what the f**k is this s**t? (scene of Spider-Man battling Electro with a music of Dubstep)

Experience Sony products at every turn including this crappy TV Peter watches that proves not one scene of was harm during the production from a script by no less than people including the guys whose the first two Transformers movies.

Seymour Simmons: I am directly below the enemy’s scrotum.

Directed by Marc Webb. Wait a minute. Is that’s supposed to be a joke?

Electro: Ahhhh.....

Starring: Eduardo Slingerin (Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker), Malekith (Dane Dehaan as Harry Osborn), Pepper Potts (Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy), Django Ungrounded (James Foxx as Max Dillon), Steampunk Pig Vomit (Paul Giamatti as The Rhino), Aunt Norma Rae (Sally Field as Aunt May Parker), That Guy (Campbell Scott as Richard Parker)

The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Gwen Stacy: Time that we'll try to be friends.

Wait a minute. Doesn’t being friends posed to same danger only without the sex? Peter why you wouldn’t agree with this?

Jon Bailey as Epic Voice Guy of Honest Trailers: Well, that was weird. Click on the link above to check out the Everything Wrong With The Amazing Spider-Man 2 from Screen Junkies, and as always, subscribe.
